How To Begin Working Out

Exercise is important not only to lose weight, but it also helps you to become healthier and it makes you feel good.

Some persons are overwhelmed when it comes to working out for varying reasons.

When you are overweight, most of the time you’re self-conscious, and I’m speaking from experience!

You don’t want to workout in front of anyone because you think they’re going to judge you or even laugh at you.

I can tell you that it’s all in your head and no one is paying attention to you, but in your state of panic more than likely your brain won’t process that information correctly!

So what did I do? I walked.

I put my son in the stroller and I walked. At first, I struggled because of my weight, but I kept at it. As I got more comfortable and confident I ventured out to our neighborhood park and walking trails.

A few weeks later I started adding on home workouts that I found on YouTube to my exercise routine.

I did this until I found the courage to venture off into my building gym. At first, I would leave anytime someone would walk in, but now I don’t care. I’m there to workout and so are they.

I know you’re wondering if I’ve gone to an actual gym as yet, and the answer is no.

I made a promise to myself that I would invest in a gym when I hit my halfway goal, and I’m really close to it by the way.

I’m not saying my method is what you should do, but I think the way I eased into it helped me to stick with it!

Find what works for you. But don’t quit. Don’t let fear cripple you and allow all the people who said you couldn’t do it have the last laugh!

Keep going! If no one believes in you I do. You’ve got this!
