When I first started my weight loss journey I avoided eating out like the plague!
Not because I didn’t want too. But because I knew I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have the discipline I needed to make the right choices.
But for the last few months I’ve gone out to eat a few times and I just wanted to share what I did to stay on track.
If you follow me on social media then I’m pretty sure you know that I intermittent fast daily. If I know I’m going out to eat I try to break my fast as late as possible.
I found that checking the menu online to see what I want ahead of time also helps a lot. I’m not overwhelmed and I know what I’m getting will fit my macros.
Once I’ve found what I want I like to pre-track it. By doing this I know if I’ll have enough calories left over for dessert.
Unless it’s a protein shake, decaf coffee, green tea or a smoothie I don’t drink anything other than water. All of the soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are loaded with a bunch of empty calories and I like to save mine for yummy things like dessert.
I usually stay clear from the appetizers because quite frankly if I start I won’t stop!
I’m not usually big on salads but if you do get one, have them put the dressing on the side. Salad dressing and most other condiments are loaded with calories.
The best advice I can give you when eating out is to stop when you’re full. Don’t force yourself to eat it all just because it’s there. Ask for a to-go box and you can eat the rest for lunch the next day.
Remember the first step is trying and the next step is not giving up when things get hard!
Keep going! If no one else believes in you know that I do. You’ve got this!
Don’t forget to like, comment, share or subscribe! I’m not picky any will do. I would really appreciate it!
Also, I started a podcast. I’d appreciate it if you’d check it out and also share it with your friends! It would mean the world to me! Click Here to listen!
