Why Don’t You Just Lose The Weight?

I know persons who’ve never been overweight sometimes ask an overweight person “Why don’t you just lose the weight”?

But it’s not as simple as you would think.

Getting up every morning to exercise for me is the easy part of this journey.

Facing myself and being true to myself was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

There was something holding me back.

Mentally I was not prepared to let go of my emotional baggage and food was my drug of choice.

Why was I afraid to lose the weight?

I was not ready to face my demons.

Until you’re ready, to be honest, and face whatever it is that you hid from that made you turn to food, you won’t be ready to lose the weight.

Motivation to start may come in waves and you may start but you won’t succeed. You need to be mentally ready for this journey because this journey is not for the undisciplined!

So you need to let go of your fears. Your fears will hold you back!

Remember there’s nothing to fear but fear itself! You’re stronger than you think.

Remember the first step is trying and the next step is not giving up when things get hard!

Keep going! If no one else believes in you know that I do. You’ve got this!
