Dealing With Cravings While On A Weight Loss Journey

Being overweight most of my life didn’t come from me eating healthy.

My weight gain was caused by constant snacking on the worst type of foods.

Cakes, cookies, candies, chips and anything else you can think of.

I didn’t like cooked food. But, I did love fast food.

I literally was killing myself daily with my food choices.

After I made the decision to change my life I kind of quit my junk food addiction cold turkey.

So, it was hard and I had to find new ways to curb my cravings.

It was really hard because I realized I didn’t only eat when I was hungry. I ate when I was bored, happy, sad, angry or even frustrated. My junk food was my addiction.

So, I found new ways to cope with my addiction.

I would drink lots of water, green tea, sparkling water, and mineral water.

If that didn’t work I would distract myself with exercise if I could.

Sometimes, I couldn’t leave to go to the gym so I would call a friend, try to read, watch tv, or find anything to distract my mind from my cravings.

But I’ll be honest. It doesn’t always work and I’m on the lookout for some new tools to help me deal with cravings. So if you have any tips please leave them down below.

Remember the first step is trying and the next step is not giving up when things get hard!

I wish I could give you some advise on this, what I would say probably won’t fit in with your lifestyle, but I do buy a bar of dark choc, and if I am really, really hankering for chocs I’ll have one square. I like to close my eyes and suck it so it’s melting and I’m enjoying every nano second.

      1. Nothing wrong with that 😀
        However, that one square lasts a lot longer and has much more satisfaction to it if we enjoy it for as long as poss 🙂
