Fasting for weight loss has become very mainstream lately, specifically intermittent fasting.
A lot of persons have asked me why I choose to fast.
Personally, I choose to fast for health benefits more so than weight loss.
The weight loss was just an added bonus.
Some other benefits of fasting are:
-It helps to speed up your metabolism
-It improves your immune system
-It improves insulin sensitivity
-Fasting helps to build better eating habits
-It also helps with sugar cravings
-It helps your brain to function better
-There is also a lot of research out there that states it helps you to live longer.
With a simple click of a button, you can find other health benefits of fasting.
You will also find a lot of persons who may discredit these findings, but I can only speak from experience.
Since I incorporated fasting into my healthy lifestyle I’ve seen a lot of these benefits.
Especially, with my immune system. I have a toddler and I am able to care for him when he’s sick and I hardly get sick.
One of the biggest benefits fasting has for me is the feeling of self-Control. When, I’m fasting it helps me to remind myself that I’m in control of the food I eat, and the food doesn’t have any control over me!
If you don’t like it, fine!
But don’t discredit it until you’ve actually tried it! Especially, with all that’s going on in the world today, we can all use a little immune booster!
Remember the first step is trying and the next step is not giving up when things get hard!
