Learning Your Triggers

Anyone who has dealt with emotional eating or binge eating we know that certain things set us off.

Each person is different!

For me, it was a certain holiday and certain family members.

Some persons can be insensitive and they said and did things that pushed me off the edge.

When I started paying attention and noticed that there was a connection with my disruptive behavior and their presence I learned to distance myself.

I realized they were a trigger for me.

I also had certain dates that were the anniversary of things I would like to forget, and anytime those dates were approaching I would spiral out of control.

Now, I find ways to stay busy and I try to not be alone.

If you can find a few good friends and/or family members to help you and support you around that time then take advantage of it.

If all else fails you can always try the most unused antidepressant there is, exercise!

Once you are aware of what your triggers are you can do your best to be counterproductive!

Remember the first step is trying and the next step is not giving up when things get hard!

Keep going! If no one else believes in you know that I do. You’ve got this!
